Spanish Film Shadow Puppet Concepts

I had a chance to do some shadow puppet concepts and transitions for a stop-motion film in Spain. It centers around modern mysteries and the Black Plague. These are some of the rough sketches. The idea was to use the symbolism of El Camino, the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela.

This is the maquette making process for my puppet. Just primed and will soon apply some of my tried and true, sanding bad assery upon it.

Space Diorama

This is a diorama I made for a children's film workshop led by fellow Coraliner Jainee Dial. I had so much fun and it made me remember how much I love making these! The two characters are animatable. Sorry for the crappy pic.

Puppet Design: My Vampire Best Friend

New project: To create a fully animatable puppet from scratch, starting with the concept.
My goal is to have it completed by Oct. 13th. Let's see if it can be done!
